How to Setup an Unturned 3.0 Server and Port Forwarding

Running an Unturned Server from your own Windows PC requires a few moments to setup but is the ideal way to play with your friends where you can continue to keep the drama group little. To setup Unturned as a server on your PC you’ll need to do 2 things, the first is run Unturned 3 as a server, another is setup your router so that the game host ports forward to your PC so that others on the Internet can connect to your Unturned server. This article will show you the Way to do , but is focused on Unturned 3 and utilized with Unturned Version 3.15 as a server.Step 1 — Produce Unturned Server Shortcut

To run Unturned as a server you only need to create a customized shortcut to the game which has some flags that make it run in server mode. To do this You Have to start the Steam folder That’s typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Unturned

Right click on Unturned.exe and click”Send to Desktop (Create Shortcut)”

Today you will observe the Unturned Shortcut (a 2nd one in the event that you’ve got one ) on your Desktop. You will want to go ahead and rename the shortcut to something like”Unturned Server” so you can differentiate it against your other shortcut.

Right click the Unturned Server shortcut (or whatever you called it to) and click properties. The only line you will be altering here is your choice for Goal:

The entire path should already be enclosed in quotes, but if it isn’t make sure quotes encircle the whole path. You are going to want to add the flags under following the quotes. Notice that you can alter dragonblogger following the / to be some servername that you want to call the server.

-nographics -batchmode +lanserver/dragonblogger

Or if you would like to create a password protected server you’re able to make it secureserver instead of +lanserver as an alternative.

-nographics -batchmode +secureserver/dragonblogger

Your entire path should look like this:

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unturned\Unturned.exe” —nographicsbatchmode+lanserver/dragonblogger

or

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unturned\Unturned.exe” -nographics -batchmode +secureserver/dragonblogger

Once you run the shortcut you made, you need to see a DOS prompt start revealing the server starting. Leave this window open constantly as you are playing, you can now open your additional Unturned shortcut and then load Unturned and link to your server.

If you utilized +secureserver rather than +lanserver and wish to set a server password, or when you would like to configure custom Unturned Server options, then go ahead and shutdown your unturned server by typing shutdown in command prompt window that is open.

Notice you need to begin your Steam Server once so it creates the server folder and proper config files for you to edit them.

Now return in your Steam Unturned folder, and you need to see a Servers folder, under the Servers folder will be a folder using the host name you created. Then go into the Server subfolder.

Click on the Commands.dat document and use Notepad or another text editor.

I am going to record the commands you can enter, and this was reprinted by the Unturned WikiaCHow to Setup an Unturned 3.0 Server and Port Forwardingommands For Server Installation

As soon as you’re finished, save the Commands.dat document and start your Unturned Server .Measure 2 — Setup Port Forwarding for Unturned 3 Server

So this is pretty much exactly the very same instructions to set up port forwarding to some sport which runs on Steam less or more. You may use the exact same port ranges and be sure they point to a local IP.

In this example I’m using a Netgear Nighthawk X6 configuration menu to setup port forwarding, but it can differ in your own router, so locate the equivalent on your router which might be known as”Advanced Forwarding, Port Forwarding or any other associated options”.

You will want to set ports 27015 — 27019 and make sure they are TCP/UDP.

You then are going to be sure you put in the inner IP of the computer you are hosting the host from, to get this just click your Windows + r and kind control, then type ipconfig and it will show you what your desktop internal IP is that is assigned from your router.

Once this is set, your router will then forward any incoming requests on those ports to your PC. All you have to do is talk about your public facing IP along with your buddies and ask them to connect to your Unturned Server. Just kind WhatsMyIP in Google or Bing and you should easily find out exactly what your public IP is you can share with your friends.
